Italian food is a family favorite but the marinara and other tomato based sauces are often a problem for those whose systems do not tolerate marinara or other spicy sauces but still want to enjoy pasta dishes. This delicious and easy to prepare alternative is offered up by Oscar Medina.
Spaghetti, Linguini or your favorite pasta;
Margarine or butter;
Lawry's "Pinch of Herbs" or similar seasoning (for those of you not familiar with Lawry, click on the link at the bottom of the Ingredients section to to visit their website). Pinch of Herbs contains rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano and ground sesame seeds; and
Grated Parmesan Cheese.
Boil or prepare your selected pasta and then drain the pasta and transfer it to a bowl;
While the pasta is still hot, add margarine or butter as needed to completely coat the pasta;
Sprinkle Lawry's "Pinch of Herbs" (or alternate seasoning) and toss the pasta to evently coat it with the seasoning. Sprinkle a heavier amount if you want a strong herb flavor or lightly for a more subtle flavor; and
Sprinkle a liberal dose of grated Parmesan cheese and toss to blend in and absorb the butter or margarine.
This makes a wonderful side dish or main course and goes well with many dishes. If served as a main course, suggested side dishes include steamed broccoli, grilled sausage and, of course, fresh baked garlic bread and a chilled green salad.
For visual effect, the plate can be garnished with a slice of lemon or sprig of parsley. You can also add virtually any other ingredient you want keeping in mind that ingredients should be selected to avoid creating a problem for sensitive stomachs.
